The Canton Police Department operates within the BAPERN radio network. The Boston Area Police Emergency Radio Network or BAPERN provides officers an efficient means of communication with other jurisdictions. Boston, State Police Boston and towns surrounding the city are each assigned unit numbers unique to that community. Canton Police cruisers are numbered 681-700, and the same unit designations are used on our radio frequencies and displayed on the top and side of our cruisers to avoid confusion when communicating with other departments. Rapid response and communication are critical to timely response to situations. The BAPERN radio network helps to facilitate that response and all Canton Police cruisers, in addition to the station are required to monitor BAPERN frequencies at all times. Listed below are the other Metro-Boston communities that comprise BAPERN: BAPERN Local Agency frequencies (BAPERN 3) Town | Unit Numbers | Arlington Police | 351-370 | Belmont Police | 371-390 | Beverley Police Boston Boston (State Police) | 901-920 | Braintree Police | 811-830 | Brookline Police | 541-570 | Cambridge Police* | 211-280 | Canton Police | 681-700 | Chelsea Police | 121-140 | Danvers Police | 971-990 | Dedham Police | 621-640 | Dover Police | | Essex County DA | | Everett Police | 141-160 | Foxboro Police | | Foxboro Police | Secondary channel | Foxboro Police | TAC 4 Gillette Stadium | Framingham Police | 940-961 | Glouchester Police | | Holbrook Police | Ispwich Police | | Lexington Police | 411-430 | Lynn Police | 1101-1170 | Lynn Police | TAC 5 | Lynnfield Police | 1441-1460 | Malden Police | 161-180 and 1051-107 | Manchester Police | 991-1000 | Marblehead Police | 691-700 | Mass General Hospital | 1091-1100 | MBTA Police | 861-880, 1076-1090, | Medfield Police | 30 series | Medford Police | 321-350 | Melrose Police | 81-90 | Middlesex County DA | 291-320 | Middlesex D A | | Middleton Police | 41-50 | Milton Police | 701-717 | MIT Police | 291-310 | Nahant Police | 1261-1270 | Natick Police | 61-80 | Needham Police | 571-590 | Newton Police | 491-540, 1251-1260 1 | Newton Police | Channel 5 | Norfolk County DA | | Norfolk County Sheriff | | 641-660 | Norfolk County Sheriff | 641-660 | Norwood Police | 661-680 | Peabody Police | 001-020 1601-1610 | Quincy Police (1) | See separate section | Quincy Police (2) | under Quincy | Quincy Police (3) | Future dispatch | Randolph Police | 731-750 | Rockport Police | | Revere Police | 101-120 | Salem Police | 21-40 | Saugus Police | 1171-1190 | Sharon Police | | Sherborn Police | | Somerville Police | 181-210 | Stoughton Police | 881-902 | Suffolk County DA | 391-410 | Suffolk County Da | 391-410 | Suffolk County Jail | own numbering system | Swampscott Police | 51-60 | Wakefield Police | 311-320 1191-1210 | Walpole Police | 921-940 | Walpole Police | | | Waltham Police | 431-460 | Watertown Police | 461-490 | Wayland Police | 1351-1370 | Wellesley Police | 1401-1420 | Wenham Police | | Weston police | 1221-1230 | Westwood Police | 611-620 | Weymouth Police | 831-860 | Weymouth Police | | | Winchester Police | | Winthrop Police | 91-100 |
