4th of July

 Fourth of July Celebration

 

 

The Annual Fireworks display in the Town of Canton will occur at approximately

9:15 p.m on Wednesday July 4, 2012 at the Galvin Middle School on Pecunit St.   The show is anticipated to last 25 minutes.   There will be designated Handicapped parking at both the Hansen and Galvin schools. 

 

Attendees WILL NOT be allowed to park on a large stretch of Pecunit St. The majority of parking will occur on one side of each of the adjacent streets and neighborhoods-it will be posted. There will be a minimum amount of parking at the Blue Hills Country Club. Offsite parking will occur in the St Gerard Majella Church lot. Pedestrians WILL NOT be able to access the firework viewing point, via the end of Charles Drive, after 8:30 pm. At the conclusion of the event, they will not be able to walk back thru the “well road” to Charles Drive for at least one half hour.

 

Pecunit St. will be closed at both Elm and Washington approximately 20 minutes prior to the show. Pedestrian or motor vehicle access to the town cemetery- prior to, during, and after this event-will be strictly prohibited. 

 

There will be carnival rides for the children and entertainment by “The Reminiscents” beginning at 5 p.m. The members of the Canton Police Department wish to thank you in advance for adhering to the information outlined above. It will make it easier for us to ensure that all attendees have a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July.
