On the evening of Friday February 12, 2010 the TD Banknorth at Cobb's Corner was robbed shortly before closing. Canton police officers were on scene within two minutes, however, the suspect had fled the scene. Thanks in large part to the help of an alert citizen who, unaware that a robbery had just taken place, recorded the license plate of a man she thought was acting suspiciously; Canton Police detectives were able to identify and arrest a suspect in Connecticut within hours of the incident. This particular witness was instrumental in enabling us to make a quick arrest and we encourage all citizens to report suspicious activity to the police. |
